Design Canvas

A collaborative approach that included the whole team and fostered transparency, openness and built trust and alignment.

Design Canvas

A collaborative approach that included the whole team and fostered transparency, openness and built trust and alignment.

CONTEXT

A product that disrupts what we currently know about On-Site interviews.

PROBLEM ANALYSIS

Interviews are huge unknowns and people are afraid of them.

DISCOVERY

Tech exploration and experiments to decide on iBeacons.

IMPACT

Candidate surveys and CSAT's to measure success. Product data to measure usage and engagement

Ideation & Validation

Based on our tech discovery we went for a mix of location based events and a native app.

Delivery and iteration

Delivery was tackled iteratively – feature by feature rolled out to an internal test group.

Who is who?

The audience

The main focus was put on people who applied for more tech savvy roles. From physical product designers to people in the R&D department. People who are in line with what the business was looking for at the time. People who can drive innovation and execute at the highest possible level.

A component library is definetly not enough. We need to go way further!

The candidate journey

Candidates who are selected for on-site interviews received an invite by email to download the app. After sign in they'd see who they will meet during their interview day. As soon as candidates arrived next to office facilities they'd be triggered custom events based on what the interviewer set up. Interviewers have real time access to their quests and answers.

An interview before interviewing

An interactive experience

iBeacons were the core of the experience. Based on your location we are able to trigger a view that gets pushed on your phone. Candidates were guided through the office, asked to complete quests, tasks, and prepare them for the interview

Impact & Learnings

A overwhelming response from candidates who were running the process. A lot of buzz in the industry due to the disruptiveness of the initiative and tons of internal appreciation.

Impact & Learnings

A overwhelming response from candidates who were running the process. A lot of buzz in the industry due to the disruptiveness of the initiative and tons of internal appreciation.

Candidates didn't expect something as interactive as this.

Hiring managers were able to run pre-interview tests with candidates and talk about their tests during the interview itself

The offer -> signing ratio for candidates doubled

It was quite a burden for admins to setup an interview and it took a lot of effort

Interview talks slightly divereged towards conversations about this experience

The tech was still very early stage... maybe too early stage... we had a lot of no-triggers
